2010 Top 10 Wedding Trends

1. ‘Welcome Home’ – Many brides are finding it to be more personal to have a ‘backyard’
wedding a la ‘Father of the Bride’. Making a more intimate affair reminds us about the
true meaning behind a wedding, it is all about the marriage and the love between two people.

2. Homemade favors – Send your guests home with something made from the heart. In years past the favor turned into something edible, but consider making something from the heart that reflects your personality or something important to you to send home with your guests.

3. Birdcage Veils – Think old Hollywood glam and add a whimsical detail to your wedding ensemble with feathers and jewels!




4. Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses - Letting your brides select a dress that best fits their body will make them love you even more! Select the color and any detail you would like the dress to have or not have and let your bridesmaids select their own gown.

We recently had another 'AK' couple celebrate their first anniversary, YAY for Jessica and Andrew!! As the tradition goes, saving your cake topper for your first anniversary brings the couple luck and happiness in their marriage. Jessica being a traditional southern girl saved her cake topper (saran, foil, saran, foil) for a year in the freezer to share a slice with her hubby Andrew on their first anniversay and to their surprise it was just as yummy as the night they shared it a year ago. Just to be safe Jessica decided to have 'back up', but it was not needed but indeed enjoyed anyway. We wish Jessica and Andrew a lifetime of love and happiness!! Congrats you two ;-)

Fall is definitely in the air! The leaves are falling, sweaters are about to be worn (hopefully..) and you can spend your evenings out on the back porch with a glass of wine... thanks to the nice Dallas weather.

We'd like to wish one of our brides a Happy Anniversary! Her wedding was recently published on Style Me Pretty's website. Yah!! We love published weddings. Alexis was the creative force behind her wedding... we were just there to make sure everything went as planned. It is so important to have a "day-of" planner to take on all the final details the month of your wedding. Please check out Alexis' wedding to see her beautiful outdoor fall wedding.
