According to Japanese lore, "a bride who folds 1,000 origami before her wedding day will be richly rewarded with a happy marriage. The crane, who mates for life, is said to live one thousand years. By honoring this majestic bird, the bride ensure good fortune for herself and her husband. The cranes submitted by all the competing brides along with those submitted by North Texas families and friends, will be hung in the Crow Collection's Sky Bridge Gallery in honor of Earth Day Dallas 2011.
